What we’re reading:

Lewis, our Social Strategist has just finished reading ‘The Flat White Economy – How the digital economy is transforming London and other cities of the future’ by Douglas McWilliams.

Named after the coffee popular with young workers of media, internet and creative businesses, London’s Flat White Economy is booming. A growing hipster community has swapped the City’s champagne and supercars lifestyle for bicycles, boho flats and beasts, and the ecosystem surrounding them is driving the economy and the future of British prosperity.

In the book leading economist Douglas McWilliams describes how this meteoric success came about , and how London has become the prototype for digital cities around the world. The Flat White Economy is the key book you need to read on London’s economy today, which couldn’t be more relevant! You can find a link to purchase the book here.

Lara, our Head of Marketing has recommended ‘Founders at Work: Stories of Startups’ Early Days’, written by Jessica Livingston. This book features interviews with some of the largest tech startups’ founders and offers a fascinating insight into the world of tech startups.

For would-be entrepreneurs, innovation managers or just anyone fascinated by the special chemistry and drive that created some of the best technology companies in the world, this book offers both wisdom and engaging insights straight from the source. Chris Anderson, editor-in-chief of Wired Magazine, and author of The Long Tail “All the best things that I did at Apple came from (a) not having money and (b) not having done it before, ever”. Steve Wozniak, Apple”. You can purchase the book here.
